The CL-41R was proposed variant to be used as a radar systems trainer. Factory prototype aircraft Reg CF-LTW-X was modified and fitted with the nose cone and avionics package of an CF-104 / F-104G as a proof of concept. Only the single prototype was built and the aircraft never entered production.
