Markings Serial No. JT973. This was the only single B-24 Liberator C.IX in service with the RCAF. It was on loan from the RAF and is actually an ex Us Navy RY-3 Privateer. It was used between 1964-1949 by the RCAF Experimental & Proving Establishment in cooperation with the National Research Council, for airframe icing research and was based at RCAF Station Rockcliffe, Ontario.
